You can bring your kids, you can bring your pets – why not bring your action figures? For many of us around the office, every day is Action Figure Work Day. Here are some of the figures hanging out at the office, just doing insurance stuff, including one especially impressive display. Let your geek flag fly! #AFWD2019
Meemic held its traditional Souper Bowl chili / soup cook-off, which raised $640 to support this year’s school volunteer events. Congrats to the winning teams: People’s Choice – Information Systems, Best Presentation – Marketing / eCommerce, Healthiest – Customer Service / Direct Sales and Spiciest – Underwriting / Product / Actuarial / Finance. All awards were well deserved.
Meemic and our friends at AAA pretty much took over Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, MI, for the 2019 Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser, which raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. Meemic bowlers contributed more than $11,000 toward a total of more than $80,000 for BBBS’ mentorship programs. Way to go, teams!
We started judging in The Meemic Foundation’s latest Meemic Masterpieces art contest. It was the first step in finding 50 winners among more than 2,500 applications. And it sure isn’t an easy process – so many talented students out there! Tough decisions had to be made.
It looks like the Canada geese are on to us and now just want to chill out with the decoy dogs here at Meemic headquarters. They seem to be hanging out a lot more this year.
Hooper and the Meemic volunteers greet eighth-graders who got to attend. Meemic and The Meemic Foundation were proud to work with Defeat the Label to support #Stand4Change Day and the #Rally4Change at Avondale High School.
It was mostly beautiful weather at Motor City Pride, and Meemic was, of course, proud to be there to help celebrate diversity and inclusion as one of the sponsors of the big event in downtown Detroit. Thanks to the Meemic employees and agents who helped out at the booth!

At Meemic, we don’t support educators solely through The Meemic Foundation. We are happy to step in with other assistance when we can. After a recent upgrade, the Meemic IT department was able to donate five servers to Lakeview Public Schools to help them with their own upgrade and allow them to spend their money in other ways to help students.
After last summer’s successful mural painting, Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) asked us back to further brighten up the hallways for the kids who attend Head Start. And we were glad to do it.
Several people from Meemic (employees and their families) participated in the Making Strides Oakland County Michigan walk for breast cancer awareness and research on Oct. 19. Team Meemic blew past its goal of $500 to raise $752 for the event. The event raised about $109,000 from 1,500 participants.
All over the Meemic building, folks were in the spirit for #UnityDay2019. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center (NBPC) promoted the day to “help create a world without bullying” by uniting for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Meemic employees wore orange in honor of the day, brought in orange food and participated in a Unity Walk.
