When Washington Elementary School in Mundelein, IL, needed books, Lynn Epperson of Lynn Epperson Insurance in Lake Villa answered the call. She donated $200 worth of books to the school library and enlisted some super help. A group of royalty and superheroes delivered the books and read to the kids.

Meemic volunteers teamed up to convert an unused room into a comforting teachers lounge for the staff at Paul Robeson/Malcom X Academy in Detroit.

Whatever you want to call it (Bring Your Child to Work Day, Take Your Kid to Work Day), the halls at Meemic were full of bright young faces learning about everything their parents do, from customer service to claims to sales to maintaining our website. They took some time out as a group to write thank you notes to teachers and play games.
Representatives from Meemic’s legal department visited University Preparatory Academy’s third-fifth-grade classes to discuss job opportunities involving the law. The panel, which included a judge, also conducted a candy negotiation exercise. The goal is to introduce students to people working in the legal field and teach them a useful skill attorneys and other legal professionals utilize on a regular basis. The program is sponsored by the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association’s School Partnership Program.
